"Excellent mild-medium belicoso for a morning smoke"

I've been smoking the Macanudo Duke of Windsors for the past 7-8 years and have never been disappointed my box purchases. These beautiful looking and well constructed cigars are mild to medium with a bit more complex flavor and aroma than most Macs (eg. Hyde Park). They improve immensely with aging (I take them out of the plastic sleeves and rest them in my cigar chest for 3 months or more). You will be rewarded with one of the finest mild smokes around. However, from time to time, like many belicoso type cigar shapes, occasional individual cigars get the hard draw issue. So I'm not sure if this is the issue with the lower than expected rating on this site. I'm surprised and puzzled as I have been smoking cigars for over 14 years and would rate this cigar a 90 at the very least, especially at around $5 a stick, it's a great value. The Duke of Windsor is still and always will be one of my favorite smokes in the morning and/or after lunch.

"I expected more!"

I expected more . . . more flavor, better draw, and cleaner burn. I haven't given up on Mac's, but will try a different style next time.

"some have hard draws"

First when you order b sure you are not getting torpedos. This has happened to me twice and they never tell you. Macanudo are either great or have a hard draw. 8 in my last box were unsmokeable but the rest were perfect. I am sending the unsmokeables back.

"A wonderful cigar, I like it as much as my Dunhill"

I have found the Duke of Windsor a very nice and pleasant cigar. I rate it with the Dunhill. Flavores are somewhat simular but not as strong. A pleaure to smoke

"A great cigar from Macunado"

A great looking cigar that burns well from start to finish. If you like a mild/medium smoke, this is it. One of the best cigars I have ever had. Beats some Cubans!
