Cuesta Rey Caravelle
"GREAT CONNECTICUT SHADE CIGAR"
I started smoking these back in the 70s when I bought them at the local news stand for a quarter apiece!
Think they tend to get a bad rap, but I find them to be my preferred mild cigar. Some say they are tightly rolled and that is true. I just work the hard areas out with my thumb and forefinger before smoking and all is well. No worry breaking as they are truly sturdy cigars.
While they are no longer a quarter, they still are one of the great cheap cigars on the market and haven t changed a bit in 50 years!
That s consistence!!!

"Cuesta Rey Caravelle Cigars"
Not a good experience. Recently purchased a box of 25 and was very disappointed after receiving them. Of the 25 I received I have apptempted to smoke 9. Out of the 9 I have had 1 one good smoke. They were stem bound and do not draw. They are rolled so tight that they are virtually unsomkeble. They do have a great flavor if you can get one to draw, but over heat in the attempt. I not only would never order them again, but will never order a Cuesta Rey product ever again. Buyer-Beware. What sounds like a great deal turned out to be a great disappointment. Out of 5 stars I give them a 1 one . I did get one good smoke out of 9 Nine .

"My main smoke since 1995"
Unfortunately it seems the Cabinet selection from Cuesta Rey is no longer being produced. I ve smoked them all, 95, 1884, 898 since the 90 s. I ve also smoked a myriad of other cigars. Cubans included. The Cuest-Rey Cabinet 898 will always be my number one choice. As long as they last. Period.

"Great Cigar"
Normally I go for the stronger smokes but this one is a great morning stogie. Razor sharp and slow burning - flavors are excellent.

"Enjoyable Smoke"
I would put this as a good starter cigar for someone who is just beginning to smoke cigars. It starts mellow and ends in a medium category with a gradual increase in intensity throughout the smoke. Had a nice even burn and held the ash well, the draw was slightly tight but overall construction and appearance were quite nice. As stated earlier the taste started slightly leathery with some mild peppery notes in the tobacco flavor. About a third in and the leather, pepper, and tobacco tastes increased slightly but proportionally being mild to medium overall. The final third ends well as a medium smoke with the same flavors increasing in intensity with slightly more pepper and earthy notes present.

"Great smoke"
I have been smoking 95’s for over 20 years and the mild cigar is my all time favorite. Easy to smoke and great consistant flavor.
