CLE Prieto Double Toro 5PK
"What ?"
The pre light aroma was unique. I can t ascribe it to anything familiar but it was not unpleasant. The initial light was a pepper bomb. The retrohale was sharp to the point of stinging my sinuses, and my long time smokers palate is conditioned to strong cigars. The draw throughout was tight to the point that the cigar was laborious to smoke. Two thirds of the way in I gave up as the cigar became sour in my mouth.
As this was the first of a 5pk and the first of this brand that I ever smoked, I will give the benefit of the doubt given the rep. that comes with this brand and will update my review upon smoking additional sticks. I did let them calm down in my humidor for a week before the first one and maybe a couple of more weeks of aging may improve them.

CLE Prieto Robusto
"Unbeatable Value"
The CLE Prieto tastes like a $15 cigar for half the price. Eiroa is one of the best, and this stick from him is no different.

CLE Prieto Robusto
"A Robusto for the Ages"
Got my fiver of CLE Prietos this past week. Put 4 in the humidor and lit off one for testing.
To be fair, it was a little dry for my tastes as it needed, I beleive a few weeks in a humi to come up to speed.
Anyway here goes:
Wrapper is superb fully enclosing the foot and most of the boday. a great idea for when you rotate your stogies from time to time
Aroma when sniffed under the nose, somewhat like Padrons with a touch of Partagas 1845.
Box pressed beautifully and after V cut, the cold draw was near perfect. after removing the wonderful wrapper
Toasted the foot with no issue as it came up to temp very quickly.
First draws were a touch of spice with a nice earthy / slightly woody finish; not overpowering at all, just nice.
This one would pair beautifully with Rye.
The burn was consistent with no touch ups needed and the ash generated was fairly tight and broke at 3/4 inch.
It brought out a little leather by halfway with the spice in the background.
This cigar stayed surprisingly cool down to the nub and if I nub a cigar it s because I m really enjoying it.
The price right now is attractive and this CLE Prieto will hold it s own against most out there currently.
I ve only smoked one out of the five and I hope the others will run the same path as this one.
A little time in the humidor will only make this good smoke wonderful.
I smoke almost totally Robustos or torpedoes and this CLE Prieto is one of the best Robustos I have had in the last few years.

CLE Prieto Corona
"Great Maduro cigar"
Tried the corona at a local cigar shop. Great surprise little cigar. Construction, draw and burn all very good, lots of smoke. A very smooth maduro with a good taste. A bit pricey but a great cigar to treat yourself.
